The English Premier League will resume training this week after clubs voted unanimously on the decision at Monday’s “Project Restart” meeting.
The first stage “has been agreed in consultation with players, managers, club doctors, independent experts and the government”. In note that players must observe social distancing rules, and contact training is not permitted.
The Premier League statement insisted: “Strict medical protocols of the highest standard will ensure everyone returns to training in the safest environment possible.
The next stages of the process will be far more difficult, and the Premier League is in a wildly different situation than Germany’s Bundesliga. On Sunday, the UK reported 3,534 new coronavirus cases, which is much more than the 589 new cases Germany reported on the same day.
In it that ,If, the number of cases in the United Kingdom continues continue to rise, then the Premier League’s hopes of finishing the season may be opposed as planned.
While Bundesliga’s return was very affluent, we’ve already seen France’s Ligue 1 cancel their season because of the pandemic.
The EPL resuming training is an encouraging sign, in hopes we may have more soccer to watch in the near future.
