Kenyans stranded in India to be evacuated to Nairobi next week. “…The planned flight, KQ 224, will depart Mumbai at 0900 hours on June 23, 2020, and is expected to arrive in Nairobi at 1245 hours…,” part of the notice provided by the Kenyan High Commission in India.
Most Kenyans visit India seeking medical treatment and lockdown has left many stranded after flights were cancelled being that Kenya also suspended international flights.
Most stranded in India are patients who went to the country for treatment and they are expected to pay for their flight and are expected to adhere to strict conditions.
Those travelling are required to produce a clearance certificate from an accredited health facility confirming they are coronavirus-free and on arrival the passengers will also be required to undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine period.
Kenya as per Saturday, 20 June recorded 104 cases of Covid-19, Total tallying to 4,478 cases with death toll risen to 121 with two more deaths.
