More than 20 MCAs spend last night at the county assembly waiting for the motion to impeach Governor Anne Waiguruto be tabled on the morning of Tuesday, June 9.
However, when the eagerly awaited moment arrived, chaos erupted after some MCAs claimed their signatures had been forged to indicate they were supporting the motion when they were opposed to the move.

2 MCAs who alleged their signatures had been forged were thrown away and locked out of the assembly’s gate. Their attempt to resist the harassment failed as the sergeant at arms and a section of MCAs supporting the motion joined hands to throw the governor’s allies out.

Kirinyaga county has 33 MCAs and 23 voted the impeachment motion. The MCAs accused her of gross-misconduct and abuse of office.
